Liberty Bridge, Budapest

Description

The Liberty Bridge (Szabadság híd in Hungarian) is a striking piece of architecture and a popular tourist attraction in Budapest, Hungary. It is one of the eight bridges that span the River Danube in the city and is located in the center of Budapest, connecting Buda and Pest. The bridge is a steel truss bridge that was completed in 1896, and it was the third bridge to be built in Budapest. It is named Liberty Bridge because it was built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Hungary's 1848 Revolution, which sought to establish a more democratic government and greater independence from the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
